Our History

Thompson Bookkeeping Service, Inc. is a Northern Virginia-based corporation founded in 1987, family owned with four generations dedicated to serving our clients. 

The company was founded by Helen Thompson after she retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Her daughter, Carol Davies, joined the company soon thereafter.

Helen and Carol specialized in bookkeeping and tax preparation for sole proprietors. In 1996, Helen took her true retirement to Florida and Candice King, Carol’s daughter, joined the team. They focused on expanding their services to a broad variety of business sectors. 

With the addition of Carol’s daughter-in-law, Kellie Payne, and granddaughter, Taylor Williams, to the administrative team, Thompson Bookkeeping Service staff members are accessible and able to maintain the highest level of personal service while utilizing the most advanced technological innovations available in our industry.
